Remote Learning Drill

Remote Learning Day Information:

Goal:

1. Teachers will successfully set up their Distance Learning Link.
2. Students will learn where to access the teacher’s distance learning link.

FOR THE TEACHER:

_____ Click on CLEVER link on RMS webpage
_____ Click on ZOOM icon
_____ Click on START button beside your “Distance Learning Link" (hover mouse over the right side of the meeting title).
_____ Click END button to end the meeting

*You can do this part any time at your convenience - the goal is to make sure that you can find your link and start your meeting if ever needed.
*You do not have to start your video/unmute or do anything else with your meeting link. The goal is to make sure you know where and how to access the meeting and start your meeting.

FOR THE STUDENTS (the teacher will show this process):

You will not have your students login into your meeting (you will just need to show them where to access the meeting link if we ever had to go to remote learning). You do not have to "start" or access your meeting.

Students can login to their Jupiter account and click on your class  so they can see the camera button, but do not have them join your Zoom.

The teacher will show the students the PowerPoint screenshots of the following process:In their Jupiter accounts, students will access the distance learning link by:

____Clicking on the Jupiter class  (this is shown in Student PowerPoint top of page)
____Clicking on the camera icon for that Jupiter class (this is shown in Student PowerPoint top of page)

*Do not pull up a live student account unless you have that student’s permission (their grades would be visible)

If the students have any questions, please assure them that if we ever had to transition to remote learning, information regarding computer access/check-out, WiFi access, technical tips, schedule times, expectations, etc. will be provided on our webpage and through Jupiter.

.
Please note that if remote learning was to be implemented district or school-wide, the plan at this time is (but updated information would be sent if this event should ever occur):

1. Remote learning would begin the immediate date after the last 'In Person" learning date.
2. All schools would continue their current class schedule unless further direction is given by administration.
3. All teachers would be responsible for communicating with students and families through email/Jupiter Ed immediately after the last "In Person" learning date to provide class information and expectations (sample message is provided below).
4. Teachers and students would be required to sign-in through a video conference platform for continuous instruction unless otherwise indicated.
5. Teachers and students would be required to sign-in to the learning management system each day (Jupiter Ed) for assignments and activities.
Sample Message Teachers Can To Parents/Students:

Good Morning Students!

I have also attached our LIVE Zoom schedule to make sure everyone is aware when teachers are having LIVE Zoom classes. It is recommended that students use the installed Zoom www.loom.com/share/dcc5fb56bd294edfa1c0a6301f317f5a program when attending Live classes to help with audio.

Here is a link to our student resources and tips/tutorials. This page contains short videos on how to submit work, troubleshooting tips, etc.

*One of the main ways to prevent technical issues with our student devices is to make sure you leave it:
1. plugged in overnight
2. powered on
3. signed-out

This makes sure they capture the necessary updates pushed out by our tech department.

Please remember that everyone is expected to return the device AND charger on your first day back in the building.
