Welcome

Ms. Shelton
School Counselor 7th Grade

Hello, My name is Mrs. Shelton. I am the Rockvale 7th Grade School Counselor. This is my 17th year as a School Counseor but my first year at RVMS.  I enjoy helping students with all kinds of issues. Mostly, I support students by giving them skills and resources to make sure they are able to learn. Sometimes, our minds become overwhelmed with life: friend issues, family problems, school work, anxiety, mood changes and finding our worth. These are just some of the topics I help students deal with on a daily basis. I really am here to give you the best education experience academically, socially and emotionally. I look forward to helping you and meeting you. I grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois where I learned the value of relationships, hard work and helping others. However, I recently moved to Murfreesboro from Tucson, Arizona. I am excited about the following:  the Fall weather, the beautiful changing leaves, being near lakes/streams and being closer to my family in Southern Illinois. I will miss the breathtaking Tucson sky, the majestic mountains, and Tucson’s 340 sunny days each year. However, I will embrace the privilege of being Rockvale's 7th Grade School Counselor and work diligently on your behalf.
