Andrew Demolat, Band Director

A native of Marietta, Georgia, Mr. Demolat holds a Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Southern Mississippi. During his time there, he performed with the USM Wind Ensemble, Saxophone Chamber Orchestra, and other notable ensembles while also holding leadership roles in The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

 

Now entering his tenth year of teaching, Mr. Demolat first began his career with the Poplarville School District, serving as Assistant Director of Bands at Poplarville High School and Director of Bands at the Middle School of Poplarville. Under his leadership, the band program saw a 75% increase in enrollment, received Superior ratings, and placed in the top 12 at the MSHAA State Marching Championships. In 2018 he moved to Cheatham Middle School, where he tripled program enrollment over six years, with students earning placements in the MTSBOA Mid-State Honor Bands and consistently achieving Superior ratings at Concert Performance Assessments.

 
Mr. Demolat is a member of MTSBOA, the Tennessee Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He currently resides in Nashville with his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughters, Amelia and Evangeline.
